AI Video Tracking Shot Tutorial: Move the Camera with the Subject

Use an editable six-second 3D tracking template to check relative camera motion, subject framing, and background movement before AI generation.

CraftWorld · Updated

A tracking shot moves the camera with the subject. Plan subject motion and camera motion on the same timeline, then inspect framing throughout. In this local preview, the subject moves from -3 m to 3 m along X while the camera translates by the same 6 m.

Six-second tracking previs: the camera moves with the subject as the background passes.

Check three relationships

  • Subject animation: verify its start, end, and duration.
  • Camera path: choose a useful distance and height relative to the subject.
  • Viewing direction: inspect the middle of the move, not only its endpoints.

Create a project from the tracking template, edit the camera or subject animation, and replay. This template describes motion and space; character appearance and detailed performance need separate design.

Compare the generated clip

At matching times, check subject framing, apparent size, and the direction of background motion. If the subject leaves the preview frame, revise previs first. If previs is correct but the output camera stops moving, the model diverged on that run. This tutorial includes editable local previs, not a new AI-generated comparison.
